Read to Riches

There will be 14 weeks of weekly prizes awarded during the contest period. The weekly prizes will be awarded to an entry drawn at random, that provides a valid code for that contest week. A contest week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday of each of the 14 weeks of the contest period. Weekly winners will be chosen on Wednesday following the Sunday that ends each contest week. Weekly winners will be notified by phone on or before Friday of the same week. Each week of the contest The Star will award two, $500 gift cards as weekly prizes. Only one weekly prize package winner will be permitted per household during the contest period. Further entries will be accepted from weekly winners, but will only be eligible for the grand prize. All entries not chosen as a weekly winner will be rolled over and included in the grand prize drawing. The grand prize of $5,000 will be awarded to an entry, drawn at random from all entries collected during the 14 week contest period. The grand prize winning entry must contain one of the valid code numbers published daily during the contest period. The last code number will publish on Sunday, July 26, 2009 and the winner will be drawn on Thursday, July 30, 2009 and notified by phone on or before 5:00 pm Friday July 31. In order to be awarded any of the weekly prizes or grand prize the winner must claim the prize at the offices of The Kansas City Star 1729 Grand Blvd KCMO, show a valid drivers license or photo ID, fill out and sign a W9 form provided by The Kansas City Star.
